How can I close my Nickel account?
You can close your Nickel account in two ways: through your online customer area or via our contact form. Here are the two options explained:
Through your online customer area
- To close your Nickel account, go to the online Customer Area in your browser
- Go to the "Profile" tab and then click on "Close my Nickel account
- Check if you meet the following conditions:
- Your account balance is €0
- You have changed all your direct debits and transferred them to another bank
- There are no transactions pending or planned for the future
- You have destroyed your Nickel card
- Confirm the closure of your account
Through our contact form
You can also request to close your account via our contact form:
- Go to our contact form
- Select the following options:
In "Your request concerns": Choose “Your account (block, close, reopen)"
In "Type of request": Choose "I would like to close my account"
Processing time: It will take a maximum of 30 days for your account to be permanently closed.
How can I recover the balance remaining on my account?
Make sure you withdraw the balance from your account before closing it. You can do this in the following ways:
- By making a free transfer from your Nickel account to your new bank account or to another beneficiary.
- By withdrawing the remaining amount from an ATM.
- If you do not have access to your online customer area, you can send us your new IBAN (in your name) via our contact form.
Any remaining balance will be refunded by transfer to the personal bank account provided within 30 working days (excluding weekends and public holidays).
