Will the remaining money on my bpaid card be automatically transferred to Nickel?

No, your money won't be transferred automatically. You must first subscribe to Nickel to become a customer. You can do this online on nickel.eu or by going to a Post Office, or another Nickel Point. Once your registration is complete, you can collect your card at the counter of a Nickel Point.

As soon as your account is opened, your Nickel payment card is also immediately operational. From now on, you can deposit money or make transfers from this account.

To transfer the money from your bpaid card to your new Nickel card, you have 4 different options:

In a Post Office

Go to your Post Office and ask to transfer the balance of your bpaid card to your Nickel account. You can find your Nickel IBAN in your Customer Area.

Via a payment

Pay with your bpaid card in stores or online. It remains active until 28/02/2026, as long as there is money on it.

Via a cash withdrawal

Withdraw the money from your old card at the ATM of your choice. This way you have the remaining amount in cash. If you want, you can then go to a Nickel Point to deposit this money into your Nickel account. The fees are 3% of the amount paid.

Directly via the Nickel App

You can also transfer the money from your bpaid card directly your Nickel account through your Nickel Customer area. Here's how to do it:

  1. Go to your Nickel App or online customer area.
  2. Go to the "transactions" tab and then click on "Deposit money into my account" in the top right corner.
  3. Then click on "by credit card" and follow the procedure.
  4. The cost of this transaction is 2% of the transferred amount.
  5. There you go, your money has been transferred to your new Nickel account!
